About Hannah Carter
Hannah Carter is just a girl who loves to dream and write, who never stops hoping one day she’ll discover she’s actually a mermaid.
Ever since childhood, Hannah has had a deep love of storytelling, especially for fantastical stories. The works of Studio Ghibli, C.S. Lewis, Diana Wynne Jones, and many others inspired her to create her own whimsical stories: dark, but with a thread of hope tying everything together.
And inspiration hasn’t stopped yet! Throughout her career, Hannah has been in almost 40 anthologies and published 3 novels, with a fourth one–the conclusion to her Altantis trilogy–coming soon. She has also written over 40 flash fiction stories for Havok.
In 2022, Hannah’s flash fiction piece, “A Home for Nova,” won a Realm Award, and in 2024, her short story “House of Shadows” is a finalist for another Realm Award. She also won a Reedsy short story competition with her piece, “Lara.”
In addition to fiction, Hannah also writes devotions, and has had close to two dozen published through various magazines, devotionals, and on her blog. The works of C.S. Lewis have had a profound effect on her, and she aspires to be both a theologian and fantasy author in the same vein as him.
In her spare time, you can find Hannah either cuddling her cats, reading with a cup of tea, or listening to an absurd amount of Taylor Swift.
